What up world! Welcome to The Adulting Millennial, where I plan on getting real and keeping it real.

I'm Brittany Davis, a real life, trying to figure it out, 28 year old millennial and it's hard out here for a A lot of the world out there doesn't have such a great view on the millennial generation and I disagree with them! Time Magazine labeled us as the "Me, me, me generation" that constantly check their phones and live on computer screens because we no longer know how to talk to each other.

I realize I'm on a computer staring a screen to type this all out but at least its for an actual purpose and I'm talking to whoever decides to listen and I very well know how to talk to actual physical people! Now this is the part that burns me up......
"Not only do millennials lack the kind of empathy that allows them to feel concerned for others, but they also have trouble even intellectually understanding others' points of view."
-Time Magazine read that correctly. Now how does this statement make you feel because I'd really like to know.
I know for a fact that I am empathetic, so much so I drain my own personal energy because I tend to take on the problems of others. So take that Time Magazine...I have feelings!
So for the second half of that ridiculous statement, I have experienced some of this and since the world has been in the crapper lately this becomes more and more apparent...BUT!!! is still wrong. There are plenty of us that live off of understanding others.Let me know if I'm wrong, but I find that generations before us, and I mean way before us have the hardest time even wanting to understand other's points of view, nonetheless try and actually intellectually understand it. We get shut down immediately for the things we do, the way we live, who we love.....blah blah blah.
I'll throw in just a few more stereotypes for you:
Feeling of entitlement
I for one do believe these traits exist, but in every generation out there. I disagree with my generation being labeled so heavily with these words because I like to believe I am the opposite along with most of my friends, family and colleagues. We work hard, want to grow in our careers, some of us live very spiritual and religious lives, we want to learn how to better our future and the list goes on.
So all in all I am here to introduce my Millennial Adulting blog where I plan on talking about quite a few things. First and foremost my trying to adult in this word, #adulting, everyday lifestyle, personal finance, career, family and so much more. Anything you want to talk about, hear about, or see.....let me know!
Here we go!
